Weekly campfire with large barbecue buffet

Erlebt die Magie eines Hüttenabends am offenen Feuer – mit knisternder Glut, duftendem Grillgut und Musik unterm Sternenhimmel.

Once a week there is a communal campfire at the Rotgüldenseehütte. Where better to share hiking stories, mountain adventures or hut experiences than around the blazing flames of a fire with a grilled sausage and beer.

We light the campfire together at 6.30 pm and invite our guests to help us build the fire and look for suitable barbecue plugs in the surrounding area. A guitar is ready and waiting for music-loving players and singers.

Once the fire has burnt down and the embers are perfect, the campfire buffet is open. For the barbecue you can expect various (also vegan) grilled sausages, grilled cheese, baked potatoes, corn on the cob and vegetable skewers, as well as sandwiches, salads and homemade sauces. For dessert, you can prepare real s'mores with marshmallows, chocolate and oat biscuits or grill sweet Steckerlbrot, chocolate bananas and baked apples in the embers.

Cost contribution for the campfire buffet: € 27,- (including punch as an aperitif, as well as beer and juices from the buffet).
The kitchen closes at 17:30 on this day. The campfire replaces the half board.

Guests from the valley are of course very welcome! At 9.30 pm we will be happy to accompany you back down with a torchlight procession. For quantity planning, please register at +43 664 3262113 or buchung@rogsi.at!

Weather & tour planning

The weather in the mountains can change quickly and has a decisive influence on your safety and mountain experience. Careful weather planning is therefore essential for every mountain tour!

Weather planning: from the big to the small

For a reliable weather assessment, we recommend first looking at the large-scale weather situation and then moving on to local forecasts. We can recommend the following weather services:

Alpine Club Weather

  • Comprehensible text descriptions of the weather data by Geosphere Austria
  • Comprehensive presentation of the general weather situation in the Eastern and Western Alps with important parameters (temperature, zero degree limit, wind, fresh snow)
  • Detailed descriptions for individual Alpine regions and mountain groups
  • Ideal for an initial overview and basic tour planning
  • Updated once a day.
